**JOUW OPDRACHT**

Je zult werken aan verschillende onderzoeksprojecten gericht op data-analyse en de ontwikkeling van computationele modellen voor eiwitontwerp. Je specifieke taken omvatten:

- Het uitvoeren van state-of-the-art onderzoek naar de toepassing van machine learning, hyperdimensional computing en quality diversity algoritmes voor de analyse van natuurlijk voorkomende eiwitten.
- Het ontwikkelen en implementeren van innovatieve computationele modellen om designregels af te leiden uit biologische sequenties en experimentele data.
- Het gebruiken van deze designregels om de relatie tussen deze sequenties, hun kenmerken en resulterende gedrag te voorspellen en te begrijpen.
- Je zult nauw samenwerken met externe projectpartners.

**JOUW PROFIEL**
- Je hebt een PhD in bio-ingenieurswetenschappen, bio-informatica, computerwetenschappen, of een gerelateerd vakgebied.
- Je hebt een sterke basis in machine learning en evolutionaire algoritmes.
- Je hebt ervaring met data-analyse, bio-informatische technieken en de relatie tussen eiwitstructuur en -functie.
- Je bent bekwaam in programmeertalen zoals Julia, Python, of R.
- Je toont een grote interesse in het toepassen van computationele methoden om biologische problemen op te lossen.
- Je hebt een bewezen staat van dienst in het uitvoeren van onafhankelijk onderzoek en het publiceren in peer-reviewed tijdschriften.
- Je spreekt en schrijft vloeiend Engels en je voelt je comfortabel bij het presenteren van je onderzoek aan verschillende doelgroepen.
- Je bent een gemotiveerde en toegewijde onderzoeker met een sterk verlangen om bij te dragen aan de vooruitgang van _de novo_ design.
- Je leert snel en bent in staat om zelfstandig onderzoek uit te voeren.

**ONS AANBOD**
- Wij bieden je een contract aan 80% tewerkstelling van bepaalde tijd voor een periode van 15 maanden.
- De indiensttreding kan ten vroegste vanaf 1/10/2024
