At the Brussels office, our work focuses on four strands of work:
- Data and evidence which often comes from large scale multi-country public opinion surveys, such as the standard Eurobarometer.
- Policy development and evaluation to support clients across the policy cycle, from needs assessment and formative research through to full-service programme evaluation
- Behavioral insights and communications to identify population segments to undertake targeted, effective interventions and communications and crucially, address the gap between intentions and actions.
- Political advisory to understand public opinion and voting intention polling
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
As a Project Management Trainee you will be involved in the translation process of the questionnaires and other survey material to the highest quality standards. Besides this some of your main tasks would be:
- Working closely with the translation team and researchers to ensure successful delivery of projects
- Perform quality control over translated material and help layout
- Maintain constant performance monitoring on external providers
- Handle administrative work related to the job, including management of translation project budgets
- Provide costing and translation methodology advice on the prospective projects
- Supporting on the project management; including liaising with suppliers, partners, team members and clients
- Supporting on business development by making supervised contributions to tender writing
YOUR PROFILE
We are looking for a graduate with a curious and analytical mindset and who is interested in both research and linguistics. You would need to:
- Have a completed university degree; study in languages are a plus;
- Be fluent in English, both written and spoken - any other European language is an additional asset;
- Have knowledge of social and political research.
- One or more of the following would be additional assets:
- Understanding of / or experience with different translation methods
- Experience as freelance translator or translation project coordination
- Understanding of / or experience with survey / research methods
- Be used to working both as part of a team and on your own
- Show proactiveness and ownership of task
- Be used to multi-tasking and to prioritising tasks autonomously
- Be detailed-oriented
- Be solution oriented
- Have the unlimited right to work in the EU (in time and otherwise - this should not be linked to the duration of your studies)
