The Life Performance Senior Manager is responsible for the effective translation of all business dimensions that impact the Financial Plan into measurable objectives, implemented, monitored and consolidated under a single umbrella to ensure the smooth execution of the Financial Plan. The Life Performance Senior Manager will do so by liaising between the Finance department (within the Strategic Plan & Management Control division) and the company's other divisions and yoke the assumptions underlying the Financial Plan to the Business levers, so that these two universes understand and positively influence each other. The Life Performance Senior Manager monitors and analyses the results during the year, and participates in the development of corrective measures when necessary.
As a management control expert, he/she is responsible for performing and interpreting the analyses and results of financial controls and the budgetary process; challenging them internally and externally, issuing recommendations and contributing to the implementation of the Management's strategy.
The Life Performance Senior Manager works closely with the following departments (non-exhaustive):
- Finance:
- Perform the complex financial analyses of the current and/or forecast data and revise their completeness and accuracy so as to ensure the pertinence of the results.
- Manage the budget and financial control process to obtain a clear view of the financial data and to monitor them, challenge them internally and externally and make recommendations based on business indicators and the reality on the ground/in the market.
- Coach and develop employees from the finance division to increase their expertise and thus boost the professionalism of the teams. When necessary, train employees from other divisions to acquire the financial knowledge required for their function
- Participate in the implementation of strategic projects with a view to attaining technical profitability, controlling overhead costs and continuously improving service quality.
- Within his/her area of responsibility, act as a reference and contact person for other entities and management in order to establish a constructive collaboration climate.
- Life & Financial Risk Management : the go-to person for the Finance department ensures Business has a good understanding of the risks and limits to be taken into account when designing/adapting prices and products. Measures the consequences and impact on profitability, reinsurance, risk appetite, etc.
- Pricing & Product : ensures that pricing and product developments are in line with the defined strategic ambitions for growth and profitability (Plan and/or Risk Management).
- Distribution : oversees the compatibility of the growth objectives of the sales staff and the costs of commercial levers (over-commissioning, etc.) with the Financial Plan.
- Marketing : ensures that customer objectives are consistent with the Financial Plan and that digital developments are integrated.
- AXA Group : represents AXA Belgium in Group or European Market working groups
- Business Unit Life : supporting the various BU teams by carrying out financial/strategic studies.
**Your Profile**
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar position.
- In-depth knowledge of the life insurance business
- In-depth knowledge of statutory accounting, IFRS 4 and IFRS 17 as well as life insurance cost accounting
- Knowledge of Risk Management and Life Pricing
- Solid analytical skills, a head for figures
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to stimulate effective deliverables, reprioritize if necessary and communicate proactively and succinctly, highlighting causal links
- Common sense, pragmatic and able to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms
- Naturally curious, eager to learn and with a strong sense of initiative
- Able to work to tight deadlines and cope with stress
- Perfect knowledge of French or Dutch and English with a good knowledge of the second national language
- A role model with a positive and determined attitude
- A team player with good listening skills
