**About the role**:
EPAM is looking for a hybrid Lead Accountant to join our team in Brussels. The Lead Accountant will take on the overall responsibility for maintaining an efficient accounting framework in SAP, ensuring accounting records comply with local laws, US-GAAP and corporate policies. The role will involve closely liaising with the Finance leadership and EPAM Global Shared Services Center (SSC) teams. The Lead Accountant will also be responsible for the completion of local tax and statutory filings, compliance audits and continued improvements of local processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the local SAP ledger in accordance with local GAAP
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Review the submission of annual tax filings
- Define and post Local GAAP adjustment requirements
- Conduct periodic Stat to US-GAAP reconciliation/bridging
- Review and analyze monthly results during each closing
- Lead on statutory, tax and corporate audits
- Implement updates to Global SSC teams on changes in taxation
- Liaise with payroll agencies and Global payroll teams to complete accurate payroll calculations
- Undertake ad-hoc activities as required

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Degree in Accounting and a holder of a local equivalent of a valid CPA qualification
- 3-5 years of experience in multinational company accounting or Audit services, preferably with experience as a Senior/Lead Accountant for a local multinational subsidiary
- Solid knowledge and experience in SAP and other IT tools including ERP, BI and MS Office
- Excellent knowledge of statutory and IFRS/US-GAAP accounting standards
- Comprehensive knowledge of local Tax, labor law and other local regulations. Experience in managing Tax Audits from a Legal Entity perspective will be an advantage
- Proven reliability with high-level integrity standards
- Excellent collaboration and English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Additional language proficiency in French or Dutch
- Highly adaptable and able to manage changes independently with a high level of motivation
- Experience in working in a Shared Service environment will be considered an advantage
- Additional qualifications in the field of Taxation will be a plus
