Role Overview

**We are looking for**

**We count on you for**
- Providing sound support and management to ensure compliance with all applicable regional, federal, state, and/or local DOT and HSE legislation.
- Leading the GBU in adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and Solvay group policies for transportation safety
- Providing guidance and global oversight to the business, regional SC leads, sites, and transportation safety teams
- Defining the KPIs needed to proactively assess transportation safety improvements
- Mitigating the high risk to business in cases such as incidents, spills, injuries to people, reputation, environment, and legal matters
- Mentoring the competency of the transpiration organization and stakeholders in safety management practices, protocols, and procedures
- Creating, developing, and implementing the GBU’s transportation emergency response plan, transportation safety strategies, and protocols

**General Requirements**
- At least 10 years of transportation management and/or safety management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to support and influence in a matrix organization

**Specific Working Knowledge Requirements**
- International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG)
- International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR)
- International Air Transport Association (IATA) DOT guidelines
- OSHA compliance and Hazardous material handling
- Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) Marking and labeling of dangerous goods
- Packaging of dangerous goods for transport
