**Introduction**:
Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) manages an extensive portfolio of information systems that support the core business activities of DG AGRI. These information systems are mainly specific to DG AGRI since they support the management of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) performed by the Directorate-General. The CAP information systems cover a wide range of business areas such as Strategy & Policy Analysis, Sustainability of the EU Agriculture, CAP Strategic Plans of Member States, International Relations in Agriculture, Agricultural Markets, Financial Management of Agricultural Funds, Assurance and Audit, Agricultural Legislation, and Geographical Indications.
**Skills, knowledge, experience required**:
- A Master’s Degree with 16 years’ related IT experience;
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate;
- At least 4 years’ experience with:
- MS Power BI (Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query M language, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), etc.);
- Dashboard UI/UX design;
- SQL;
- At least 3 years’ experience with extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes using SAP Data Services (DS);
- Excellent knowledge of:
- Data warehouse design and architecture;
- Relational database systems applied to data warehouse;
- SQL;
- Business intelligence reporting tools;
- ETL tools;
- Modelling tools;
- Online analytical data processing (OLAP) and data mining tools;
- Good knowledge of:
- Data lake/data lakehouse design and architecture;
- Cloud-based business intelligence design;
- Knowledge of:
- Non-relational database technologies;
- Near real time data warehousing and/or change data capture technologies;
- Ability to:
- Participate in multilingual meetings;
- Work in a team;
- Work with a high degree of rigour and method and, more specifically, to follow naming conventions and coding standards;
- Work in a multicultural environment on a large project;
- Ability to understand, speak, and write in English fluently.
**Desirable**:
- Certifications:
- Microsoft Data Analyst Associate;
- Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate;
- AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty;
- Knowledge of French.
**Duties/role**:
- Creating and maintaining Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and complex business intelligence solutions (data lakes/data lakehouses);
- Designing architectures both on the cloud and on-premises (whether hosting or cloud on-premises) or combination of both (hybrid);
- Gathering business requirements;
- Designing ETL processes;
- Performing data virtualization and modelling;
- Performing physical database design;
- Conducting database performance analysis;
- Designing Data Quality and Health Monitoring processes;
- Elaborating test programs;
- Writing technical documentation;
- Assisting with deployment and configuration of the system;
- Participating in meetings with other project teams.
