For one of our clients at the European Parliament, we are hiring a Museum Assistant Registrar with proven experience in working in museum/cultural institutions:
The Assistant Registrar will organize the logístical, legal, practical and technical aspects of temporary exhibition organization in keeping with legal and ethical standards.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work alongside the collections team in the organisation of all collection related aspects linked to temporary exhibition organisation, including touring exhibitions and loan negotiations for various venues (loan contracts, transport, insurance).
- Participate in the implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures for data handling and information flow for the collection database system, in-line with Spectrum requirements. Undertake data entry as required.
- Work closely with all key internal and external stakeholders, mainly Collections, Curatorial, internal and external Communications to ensure the Online Collection meets our client's needs.
- Communicate and coordinate their work between the teams keeping the documentation of their activities up-to-date.
**Skills**:
- Care of and Access to physical and digital objects/collections.
- Project Management.
- Legislative and other legal requirements, regulatory and contractual obligations, documentation practices and standards, including but not limited to, data protection, intellectual property, international obligations, import/export licenses, copyright, aviation security regulations, immunity from seizure for cultural objects and other policies in-line with organization and policy requirements.
- Spectrum collection management standards, which set the documentation requirements for the sector of Cultural Collections Management, a strategic requirement for standards of care.
- Our client's requirements for data management, data protection and information systems.
- The requirements and operation of the Institution specialist software and IT systems.
**Experience**:
- At least 4 years’ Experience working in a museum setting and knowledge of museum operations, policies, and standards.
- Excellent team member and communication skills, able to work independently and with a variety of people with different skill sets and from different disciplines. Self-motivated, open-minded, and a fast learner.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under stress while providing quality work and meeting deadlines.
- Proven ability in managing exhibition projects, including touring exhibitions and museum collections management systems.
- Working knowledge of data architectures, metadata standards, imaging and digital asset management software required.
- Results driven, flexible approach, diplomatic, problems solver, work collaboratively, work under pressure, decision-making.
