PubAffairs Bruxelles is a non-profit, non-partisan and membership-based organisation whose main aim is to foster understanding, transparency and participation in the work of the European Union. PubAffairs Bruxelles is an open platform for debate and information exchange, as well as for the development of ideas among its members and followers with an established diverse community.

PubAffairs is offering fellowship opportunities aimed at giving recent graduates and young professionals, with a strong EU policy and/or legal background, the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various EU-related fields (such as public policy monitoring, legal research, gathering policy insights and communication outreach and/or public relations), through one-year EU public affairs fellowships, namely the **Junior Professional Fellowship (JPF) - Legal or equivalent** and the **Junior Professional Fellowship (JPF) - Communications & Policy**.**

**The fellowships are meant to lead to a permanent contract**

The Fellows will be part of a small and dynamic team and will have the chance to be involved at the forefront of the work of the organisation in order for her/him to take on increasingly more responsibilities and tasks.

It is essential that applicants have very good academic records and a thorough knowledge of the EU institutions policy-making process and a good knowledge of current policy mainstreams.
- A very good knowledge of the EU decision-making process is essential in order to analyse and keep track of EU policy dossiers of interest to PubAffairs particularly for Legal or equivalent position profiles, but also necessary for Communications & Policy profiles._
- Knowledge of and/or interest in tech, digital and/or digital finance-related policies, is relevant for Legal or equivalent profiles._

For both profiles, fellows must possess excellent English written and communication skills, have language accuracy and a keen attention to detail.

**Professional profile**
- Graduate or recent graduate in Law or Economics with a focus on law;
- Excellent analytical, written, communication and diplomatic skills;
- Hard-working and willing to achieve results;
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team;
- Proactive, problem solver with a positive attitude;
- Native or nearly-native English language skills.

**Tasks will include**:

- Monitoring EU-related press and public policies of interest to PubAffairs, with special regard to technology and digital finance.
- Contributing to the maintenance and development of PubAffairs groups and communications activities;
- Engaging with current and potential partners and institutional stakeholders in order to maintain and expand PubAffairs activities;
- Drafting documents, reports and minutes for internal and external use;
- Assisting in the organisation of events and meetings, as well as in other PR tasks;
- Some minor administrative tasks may also be part of the job.

**Desirable**:

- Good knowledge of a/some sectorial policy/policies, with special regard to technology and digital finance.
- Previous experience in monitoring and EU policy work;
- Any EU language, other than English, will be considered as an asset.
- Previous experience in EU institutions is also welcome, but not indispensable.

**Tasks will include**:

- Monitoring EU policies of interest to PubAffairs;
- Contributing to the maintenance and development of PubAffairs communications activities, including expanding our social media outreach;
- Engaging with current and potential partners and supporters in order to maintain and further expand PubAffairs event series;
- Drafting documents, briefing notes and/or minutes for internal and external use;
- Assisting in the organisation of events and meetings, as well as in other PR tasks;
- Some administrative tasks may also be part of the job.

**Highly Desirable**
- Native or nearly native knowledge of German.

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience in communicating and/or monitoring EU policies;
- Previous experience in a/some EU sectorial policy/policies;
- Native or nearly native French or, other EU languages may also be an asset;
- Previous experiences within any EU institution are naturally welcome, but not indispensable.
