Introduction to the position

The goal of the Activities Department is to provide an extended after school care programme for its

students (ages 3-12 years).

The ISB Plus Team is currently looking for a part-time After School Care Worker, who could assist

from Monday to Thursday (15:00-18:00), on Wednesdays (12:00-18:00) and on Professional

Development and Learning Conferences days. The contract for this position will be concluded

through an interim agency.

Key Accountabilities
- Supervision and care of children, after school hours.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment.
- Ensure childcare is an inclusive environment which meets the needs of all children

regardless of culture, religion, and physical or emotional development.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined

by the Activities department.

Skills and competences

Skills, aptitude and knowledge:

- A commitment to the provision of high-quality childcare.
- A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training.
- Enthusiasm for working with children.
- Creativity to devise new ideas and engage the children in activities.
- Previous experience with children aged from 3 to 11, in a voluntary or paid capacity.
- Interest in the care, learning and development of young children.
- Understanding of inclusion.

Personal Qualities:

- Excellent communication skills with children, colleagues and parents/carers.
- Patience, punctuality, reliability and trustworthiness.
- A positive approach to inclusive practice, with children, parents/carers.
- Good organisational skills.
- Able to work in a small team.
- Flexible problem-solver with a practical, can-do attitude.
- Pleasant and enthusiastic disposition with a team spirit.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Sense of humour.

Qualifications:

- Understanding of Child Protection policies.
- Basic understanding of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene in the workplace.
- Pediatric First Aid / CPR certificate is desirable, extra training will be provided.
