At the intersection of Generation (production) and Retail (consumption), the Optimisation department manages the risk of Luminus’ integrated commodity portfolio, maximises the value of the generation assets and secures the energy needs of Luminus’ customers.

To drive the Luminus Optimisation department towards the highest standards in Operational Excellence & put in place tight Operational Risk management, we are looking for a Business Process Specialist that maps out & improves the key business processes & workflows (using BPM tools), clarifies process ownership, identifies areas for improvement, highlights potential risks, develops strong controls & defines risk mitigating strategies.

Your Daily Job
- Business Process Management

You lead E2E Process Mapping, using LEAN practices to improve efficiency.
You assign roles and responsibilities for process and data owners.
You design BPMN models for new activities like Data Analysis.
You identify key data, IT systems, and business risks, defining controls.
You regularly review processes to enhance quality and mitigate risks.
You foster cross-department synergies for better process ownership.
You create a communication plan to boost process knowledge and Operational Excellence.
- Operational Risk Management

You develop and implement an operational risk management framework (ISO 31000).
You lead the 'first line of defense' for Operational Risk within the business.
You assign risk owners and establish clear roles.
You conduct Risk Assessments with the business, analyzing processes, assessing risks, and proposing remediation.
You design effective controls (directive, preventive, detective, corrective) to mitigate risks.
You create a 3-year strategy to reduce operational risk with Risk Response and Mitigation plans.
You implement an incident process with escalation and lessons learned.
You maintain a risk register to inform senior management on key risks and mitigation actions.
You ensure timely follow-up on audit action points.
You challenge cross-departmental processes to mitigate operational risks in a volatile market.
- Business Continuity Management

You develop & update the Business Continuity Plans in close collaboration with the Optimisation teams to describe how Luminus can continue operations in case of disruption or disaster.
- Collaborate within Optimisation & across the departments

You thoroughly understand core business processes to manage operational risks and achieve objectives.
You share and explain risk analyses within your department and across others.
You collaborate to develop effective operational risk management strategies.
You bridge the first line of defense (Middle Office) with the second/third lines (risk & audit).
You contribute to 'intake' discussions, advising on process adaptations for new requests.
You provide strategic insights, recommend mitigating measures, and guide decision-making.

Your Profile
- You hold a Master's in a quantitative field like Finance, Engineering, or Economics.
- You have 3-5 years of experience in Business Process Modelling, Analysis, and Operational Risk Management or Audit.
- You excel in Process Mapping, BPM, and LEAN Six Sigma methodologies.
- You have deep knowledge of Operational Risk Management and ISO 31000 standards.
- You are proficient with BPMN, UML, Sequence/Workflow diagrams, and the Atlassian Suite.
- You have a strong understanding of the Energy Sector.
- You are skilled in Change Management practices, including the ADKAR framework.
- You are fluent in Englisch and Dutch/French.
- You excel in Business Process Management, Process/Data Analysis, and Modeling.
- You have strong Project Management and Workshop facilitation skills.
- You possess excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving abilities.
- You communicate effectively and collaborate well with others.
- You are rigorous about Accuracy and Quality.
- You are passionate about Operational Excellence.
