**About the role**:
- Reporting to the Senior Director Global Transportation, the Associate Director Global Transportation and Analytics is responsible to manage international heavy air, ocean, drayage and parcel freight activities with annual spend in excess of $300MM in support of regional logistics operations. This will involve collaboration with regional supply chain and manufacturing stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain an optimized, reliable, and cost competitive global transportation network to support the needs of the business. This role is accountable to develop robust freight spend analytics and reporting capabilities across all modes. There is also a strong focus on people management due to international associates working in various regions reporting to this position and stakeholders located worldwide. This role has an increased focus on strategy implementation, leading productivity initiatives and is accountable for supplier relationship management and first escalation point for tactical global and regional events with our pool of logistic carriers._

Main responsibilities will include:_**

Tactics and operations:_**
- Leads and manages regional transportation teams worldwide to secure freight capacity and on-time international transportation
- Monitors daily international air and ocean transportation, advancing to potential issues in freight capacity and lead time adherence
- Works closely with regional stakeholders to resolve transportation service challenges, perform network analysis, and provide service solutions.
- Implements and leads SRM activities, including MBRs and QBRs with our strategic GLPs.
- Develops and maintains robust freight spend analytics and reporting capabilities across all modes
- In collaboration with regional operation teams, monitors logistics provider performance against KPIs, established SOPs and service level agreements to ensure compliance to those requirements.
- Ensures providers are invoicing timely and accurately. Evaluate invoice rejections to identify root cause and ensure they are corrected and resubmitted in a timely manner.
- Leverages available services, technologies, and digital transformation solutions which optimize the global transportation network processes and performance, i.e., TMS, Control Tower, ML forecast, freight payment and audit systems, etc.

Continuous improvement:_**
- Provides visibility on transportation cost drivers globally to support regional transportation budget development, and identification of CI opportunities
- Leads network optimization initiatives in collaboration with regional stakeholders.
- Supports transportation CI initiatives on lane routing, air-to-ocean and other strategic initiatives

Supplier management:_**
- Manages 4PL solution for all procurement tactical activities, in both air and ocean spaces
- Drives and executes monthly to annual bidding activities in alignment with our 4PL and procurement
- Collaborates with regional supply chain and plant operations teams and lead periodic rate benchmarking and global bid exercises to ensure global transportation services and rates are current and competitive with the market
- Manages data collection and analysis for international air, ocean, drayage and/or parcel RFQs, bid cycle and analyses, and final contract execution with selected logistics partners.
- Ensures logistics provider contract documentation including master services agreements, statements of work, operational SOPs, service level agreements and quality agreements are in place and current.
- Maintains an aggregated global transportation rate repository with contracted international lane assignments
**About you**
- Minimum eight years relevant and recent hands-on experience managing international ocean and heavy air freight operational services with third party global logistics providers and ocean carriers.
- Proficiency in managing global freight sourcing and spot quoting activities, bid financial analysis and freight service contract management with global logistics providers.
- Experience managing in a diverse, highly matrixed, highly regulated, multi-cultural environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of key supply chain, air/ocean transportation processes & current best practices.
- Strong customer focus and a track record of delivering best in class service levels
- Prior Medical Device/Pharmaceutical international transportation operations with understanding of regulations and GDP/GMP standards affecting medical devices (FDA Quality System Regs/ISO 13485), and cold chain distribution experi
