Function
As a Material Expert, you build up expertise on new high-voltage assets within the framework of the projects that Engineering carries out on behalf of Elia. Depending on your prior experience, you will work on high-voltage equipment in substations or on high-voltage cables.
**The duties of this role mainly include**:
Gathering the necessary knowledge regarding the equipment and systems that fall under your responsibility. You will be aware of the latest trends in the market and exchange experiences with both internal and external contacts to acquire or maintain the necessary knowledge.
Being the technical lead for closing framework agreements on equipment and writing the necessary specifications. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for the technical evaluation of the equipment as well as the procedures for delivering this equipment.
Advising the project engineers and supporting them in the realisation of innovative projects.
Designing and giving training courses.
Participating in internal, national and international working groups.
Your Profile
You are an electrical or electromechanical civil or industrial engineer
You have experience with either
high-voltage substations and/or their high-voltage equipment OR
high-voltage and/or medium-voltage cables. Knowledge of HVDC and/or offshore cable systems is a plus.
You have a strong affinity for electrical engineering and are prepared to develop and promote technical expertise further.
You are able to work proficiently in a team, are communicative and have strong powers of persuasion.
You have acquired the skills to work independently, have a strong sense of responsibility with a good sense of priority and have effective communication skills.
You are fluent in Dutch, French and English.
In-depth knowledge of MS Office is a plus.
