About EuroHealthNet
About the position
EuroHealthNet’s activities take place across three complementary platforms covering policy, practice and research. A core management and administration team unifies and builds connections between the platforms. Within the core team, communications activities amplify the messages and expertise of the EuroHealthNet Partnership.
The core team is responsible for EuroHealthNet governance, strategic planning, and member outreach efforts, as well as administrative matters such as finance, human resources, and operations.
The **MENTALITY project**, will pilot established European practices targeted at five groups of populations in need: (1) children, (2) healthcare and other care workers, (3) people with pre-existing mental health problems, (4) those in need of community-based services and service providers, as well as (5) migrants. These initiatives will be transferred to five participating EU Member States. In MENTALITY, EuroHealthNet will lead a work-strand that focuses on building capacities and consolidation of lessons learnt. Main tasks will include for example developing training materials, analysing and consolidating the results of the transfer as well as writing a reflection paper on the lessons learned and the policy recommendations for future implementation in other EU countries.
**The ICEHEARTS project** will focus on promoting mental health and social inclusion for disadvantaged youth by transferring and implementing the Finnish ICEHEARTS model to five other EU countries. EuroHealthNet’s main contribution lies in the development and implementation of a ‘needs assessment’ to better understand the barriers and facilitators for the implementation of good practice into different contexts. Additionally, our role is to encourage and enable our members and other actors across the EU to also take up the good practice, to further multiply and scale it up, and to help shape policy environments that are supportive of positive mental health.
Both projects also focus more generally on raising public awareness on the importance of promoting, supporting and protecting mental health, on building capacities to act, and on consolidating learnings.
**Responsibilities**:
- Helping to organise, as well as participating in and contributing to meetings and events of the two consortia;
- Contributing to the planning and delivery of established milestones and deliverables, like the projects’ capacity building and training materials, the development of surveys, the collection and analysis of data, and drafting reports on findings;
- Contributing to the projects’ overall reporting requirements;
- Monitoring EU and national policy-making to identify opportunities to maximise the projects’ impacts and relevance;
- Supporting communication activities to various audiences.
- The Project Officer may also be assigned with other tasks to contribute to the overall functioning and sustainability of the EuroHealthNet office, and our overall Strategy and objectives, in consideration of existing workloads and capacities.
Profile
- You are educated to Master level in a relevant field such as social and behavioural sciences, humanities, or health-related fields;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (native speaker level), proven experience in writing articles and reports as well as presenting findings to diverse audiences. English writing skills will be tested during the interview. Other European languages are a plus;
- Very good analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail, as well as a proactive mind-set, a pragmatic approach and a willingness to take the initiative;
- Good organisational skills and sense of priority setting; ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously to meet rapidly changing requirements of projects and different deadlines;
- Good understanding of European policy and practices in the field of NCDs prevention, in particular in mental health, wellbeing and physical activity fields;
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office. Experience in video-making, creating online training materials, etc. is a plus.
- Very good interpersonal skills and teamwork; ability to work in a small, busy, international team, while also being able to work autonomously with minimum supervision when needed;
- Experience of living in different contexts across Europe and social, cultural and political differences is desirable;
- Willing to travel within Europe when required.
Practicalities
This position is offered according to Belgian national legislation. It is an offer for a full-time position of 38 hours per week with a fixed-term contract of one year. There is a possibility of obtaining an extension of another year or a permanent contract afterwards.
