Overview:
- As the
**Head of**
**Maritime**
**Market Development**, you will join the Market Development and Strategy team to manage and grow our position and corresponding revenues within the maritime vertical market segments: Cruise, Yachts and Leisure, Commercial Shipping, Offshore and Fishing. You will be responsible for market development with traditional customers as well as generating pull-through demand from end users, terminal vendors, and others.
You will develop strategic relationships and business opportunities in the maritime segment, both with ST Engineering iDirect’s traditional customer base, as well as the rest of the ecosystem.
You can rely on your existing expertise in those domains, your relationship with customers and players in the ecosystem and your technical background in the architectures and solutions. As a result, you will present on a regular basis an actionable plan to the senior leadership on what is required to grow the maritime market for the company.
You possess a unique blend of business, people, ecosystem and technical knowledge, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. Obviously, you enjoy spending time in the market and with customers to understand pain points and challenges, as well as finding innovative technical and commercial solutions to address these.
You must be able to communicate and be aligned with people in multiple departments in the company. You are adept at working in a matrix organization in close interaction with sales, product management, strategic business development, marketing, the other market directors, and senior management. As such, you will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your market. A can-do attitude will make you successful.
You will report to the VP of Market Development and Strategy and interact frequently with senior management and CxO levels.
**Responsibilities**:
- You have full** Market ownership**.
- Develop **Market **Access **and Growth **Strategy **in Maritime satcom, in line with Company Strategy.
- Provide** **360°market understanding** (programs, use cases, trends, opportunities/customers, business cases, competitive, GTM, technology, solution, eco-system,).
- ** Establish strategic **relations** **and develop business initiatives** with customers and key ecosystem stakeholders.
- ** Identify and nurture **new leads and opportunities** to build the sales pipeline.
- ** Evangelize**, influence and educate** the role of ST Engineering iDirect (and satellite) in the corresponding domains.
- Provide** guidance/**identify gaps **for product/**solution **roadmap **development**s**.
- ** Drive** required** **market **domain **collateral** (case studies, white papers, etc.) and contribute vertical-oriented messaging to marketing campaigns.
- Input to **business forecast**.
- ** External** focus.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to understand the business of our customers and end-users and to create insights that position ST Engineering iDirect as an industry thought leader.
- Good business and technical background including understanding of the challenges of Maritime satcom services provision.
- 5+ years of experience in the maritime environment.
- Self-motivated, passionate, creative and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- You are proud to meet your commitments.
- Excellent communicator, with cross-functional communication skills, comfortable interacting with people on executive level.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or comparable degree or equivalent by experience.
- Fluency in English, any other language is a plus.
- Up to 40% travel.
