- We’re looking for a generalist that is happy to work in multiple fields of law but with a primary focus on corporate and HR matters.What you will do- Be the go-to person for all corporate matters. You will be responsible for corporate governance, corporate housekeeping, SEC reporting activities, creating a framework for non-financial reporting obligations, and M&A activities that occur from time to time.
- Assist our HR department in matters relating to local and international labor laws for our company of 2,500+ people.
- Be involved in ad-hoc business support matters for our Manufacturing, Medical, and Software business units, together with the other members of the legal team.
- Work with the support of the rest of the legal team. You will work and interact with all the business and staff units in HQ or locally on a daily basis. You will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer.
- Be the first legal point of contact for corporate matters including managing the corporate housekeeping, both on a group level and for each of the company’s subsidiaries worldwide.
- Be the first legal point of contact to advise our HR colleagues on all matters pertaining to local and international labor laws.
- Ensure compliance with the Belgian and US SEC corporate legislation, meaning that you draft and coordinate the quarterly and annual reporting in consultation with our Finance department and external counsel. In addition, monitor, advise on, and prepare the growing number of non-financial reporting requirements (ESG, conflict minerals, etc.).
- Coordinate and work on M&A transactions that occur from time to time.
- Ad-hoc support of other legal counsels in business support matters.
- Your profile- You have obtained a master's in law degree from a Belgian university
- You have acquired 2 to 5 years of prior professional legal experience, either at the bar, in an international company, or through a combination of both.
- You have experience in corporate law and labor law. You have in-depth knowledge of Belgian corporate law and have an affinity for publicly listed companies. You have an interest in US corporate and securities law.
- Fluency in English and Dutch (both spoken and written). Additional fluency in French is appreciated. Other languages are considered a plus.
- You value accuracy, completeness, and practical solutions in all that you do. You do not shy away from delving into areas of law, business, or technology that you are not familiar with.
