**Context**:
The Coca-Cola Brussels EMEA R&D Center plays a crucial beverage consumer centric role in developing Sustainability-Led Innovation as a full bundle including the following components: ingredient, product, process, packaging and immediate consumption solutions.
Innovation is a central pilar in delivering End to End Sustainability Ambitions while growing Loved Brands for Consumers.

Every year, environmentally friendly business practices become more important for us and our key stakeholders. Therefore we need to pursue aggressive decarbonization goals, remain competitive, appeal to more consumers, and to create more sustainable processes for our entire system. The time for net-zero business practices is now. Carbon-neutral and environmentally friendly innovation programs and initiatives are no longer viewed as a “nice to have” benefit or differentiator; they are the “cost of entry” and an expected part of doing business.
But how our Sustainability-Led Innovation R&D Manager can address sustainability in a profitable way while still creating business value ?
**What You’ll Do for Us**:
Taking a 360-degree look at a company’s sustainable innovation practices and identify strategic areas for End-To-End Sustainability driven Innovations transversally with the different categories of beverages (Soft-Drinks, juices, iced teas, water, plant based, dairy, ).
You lead a Sustainability-led Innovation Team within R&D EMEA.
You’ll work closely with other product development teams to understand opportunities and risks specific to the different parts of the Product portfolio.
You’ll also work connected with Packaging and Immediate Consumption teams to enable End-To-End Sustainability activities. For sure our EMEA OUs and System key partners will be also part of the journey.
In this function, you play a crucial role in the implementation of the strategy and co-creating an action plan for all categories; as well as support the activities of the local agenda on Climate and Water Coca-Cola Targets. Support the Business to deliver against the targets and define the path to get there through future-proof Innovations.
In particular, your responsibilities are:
**Inspire with Innovations**
Contribute to the development and the implementation of the Climate and Water Strategy in the Innovation R&D EMEA are leading
- Being a source of **ideas** for **carbon footprint** reduction and **water** usage management
- Being a **carbon master** helping to **assess the impact of projects** through the whole value chain on the carbon footprint
- ** Co-Develop and execute** end-to-end** game-changing **sustainability** **innovation** **strategy**, for sustainable products, ingredients, and processes, across all Coca-Cola EMEA brands and categories.
- ** Ensure alignment **with **global **ESG **objectives** (primarily Pack Climate and Water) and **engagement** with **Brand Strategies**. Focus on ingredient/process/product solutions and integrating packaging, dispensing, in alignment with the EU OU and Global agenda.
- ** Own and manage a robust** Research and Innovation **pipeline** focused on discovering ground-breaking sustainable solutions, minimizing environmental impact, and fostering circular economy principles. Using best in class Innovation processes, **A**gile** methodology and Research to Experimentation approach (such as **Design Thinking and **Minimum Viable Product**) to accelerate promising technologies, projects and partnerships.
**Learn, Engage and Inform**
- **L**ead the internal engagement program** on sustainability and help organizing events around it
- Develop **appealing adapted material** to ensure Engagement of other Team members while collaborating closely with Coca-Cola R&D EMEA's Leadership Team, helping to set the strategic direction for a more sustainable future
- ** Ambassador of both Sustainability and Innovation**, constantly creating internal knowledge and capabilities, regularly widening the organization understanding of Sustainability practices (e.g. training), gaps and opportunities, barriers and Innovation programs.
- Be a **champion of the sustainability agenda** inside R&D Coca-Cola contributing to **engage all R&D Brussels development** Teams Product Develop (**and beyond**) behind it.
- ** Build** Product Sustainability** expertise** and **b**ring technical and scientific** support to the R&D EMEA department and other departments.
- ** Drive continuous improvement by staying informed** of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainability and innovation.
