Position Summary:

As the Head of Consolidation Hubs and Infrastructure, you will be responsible for overseeing the management and operations of consolidation hubs and the associated infrastructure. Your role will involve developing and executing strategies to optimize the efficiency of consolidation processes, ensuring smooth operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, you will coordinate with various stakeholders, including vendors, carriers, and internal departments, to achieve operational targets and deliver exceptional service.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Strategy Development: Develop a comprehensive strategy for consolidation hubs and infrastructure, aligning it with DumaTrans's overall objectives and growth plans.
- Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of consolidation hubs, ensuring that they function efficiently and effectively. This includes managing personnel, equipment, and resources to meet performance targets.
- Infrastructure Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and design the infrastructure required for consolidation hubs. This involves evaluating current infrastructure, identifying gaps, and recommending improvements or expansions.
- Process Optimization: Continuously review and improve consolidation processes to enhance operational efficiency. Identify bottlenecks, implement best practices, and introduce innovative solutions to streamline operations.
- Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the performance of consolidation hubs and infrastructure. Regularly analyze data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including supply chain teams, logistics, operations, and finance, to ensure smooth coordination and alignment of consolidation activities. Foster strong relationships with external partners, such as transport providers or third-party logistics companies, to optimize collaboration and achieve shared goals.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements. Identify and mitigate potential risks related to consolidation processes, infrastructure, or operations.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage the budget for consolidation hubs and infrastructure. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource allocation to achieve financial targets.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team responsible for managing consolidation hubs and infrastructure. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to consolidation and logistics. Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and implement process enhancements to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience in a similar position.
- Proven experience in managing consolidation hubs and associated infrastructure, preferably in a similar leadership role.
- Proven experience specializing in the African market would be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of consolidation processes, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Proven experience in exporting with shipping lines and airlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve operational challenges.
- Demonstrated experience in process optimization and implementing efficiency improvements.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements.
- Proficiency in using technology and software applications related to consolidation and infrastructure management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of driving results, meeting targets, and managing budgets.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Proficient knowledge of both English and the local language of the country is required.
