The role of Managing Director at Fire Safe Europe is a dynamic position that requires a strong leader to drive the organization's growth and ambitions. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Fire Safe Europe Program, developing the annual program, and ensuring effective communication with key European stakeholders.
As the face of FSEU in the European arena, the Managing Director will provide strong advocacy to key stakeholders and strengthen the fire safety agenda. They will also be responsible for proposing annual updates to the FSEU Program according to changing environments and evolutions.
The ideal candidate will have several years of progressive project management experience, with at least 5 years' successful experience in a relevant field. They will also have experience within a membership-based industry association and technical proficiency necessary to understand the job requirements.
A university degree in a related field, such as communication, is preferred. The successful candidate will also demonstrate ability to build consensus and lead advocacy projects, work in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment, and effectively motivate teams of diverse individuals.
Emotional intelligence is essential for this role, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, be stress-resistant, practical, flexible, and versatile. Strong organizational skills, pragmatism, and time management skills are also required, as well as strong communication skills (written and verbal) and fluency in English.
The Managing Director will also have a real team player mentality, with a strong capability for developing personal networks and dynamism and a can-do attitude. They will chair Core Team meetings, prepare and minute Board of Directors meetings, represent FSEU to various stakeholders and media, implement decisions of the FSEU Managing bodies, and coordinate working structures.
