Robert Walters Belgium seeks a seasoned Freelance Corporate Lawyer to fill the role of General Counsel. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for advising on employment law and compliance matters in multiple jurisdictions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Employment Law & HR Support:
    • Develop and implement effective employment law strategies
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address employment-related matters
    • Advise on employment contracts, terminations, and workplace policies
    • Manage labor disputes and litigation
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
    • Evaluate and improve existing or develop new corporate compliance programs
    • Investigate employment and compliance matters
    • Train HR and leadership teams on regulatory obligations and best practices
  • Corporate & Commercial Legal Advisory:
    • Support corporate transactions, including M&A and integrations
    • Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements
    • Stay up-to-date with changing legislation and adapt contract templates, policies, and processes accordingly

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • LAW degree from an accredited university and significant professional experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and compliance in multiple jurisdictions
  • Highly organized and efficient work style
