Hier worden gigantische containerschepen geladen en gelost, en is het een komen en gaan van vrachtwagens, treinen en binnenschepen die containers aan- en afvoeren van en naar het hinterland. Wij zetten een indrukwekkend machinepark van hoogtechnologische kranen, straddle carriers en ander rollend materieel in. Maar het zijn in de eerste plaats onze medewerkers die het verschil maken dankzij hun zorg voor veiligheid, efficiëntie en samenwerking.

Functieomschrijving Wij zijn op zoek naar een ervaren en strategisch ingestelde Director Risk, Insurance & Legal die de leiding zal nemen over de juridische zaken en het risicobeheer binnen onze containerterminal in Antwerpen. In deze sleutelrol ben je verantwoordelijk voor het ontwikkelen en implementeren van strategieën op het gebied van risicomanagement, verzekeringen en juridische aangelegenheden, met als doel de continuïteit van onze operaties te waarborgen en juridische risico’s te minimaliseren.

  • Je fungeert als de belangrijkste juridisch adviseur van het senior management:
  1. Je zorgt voor de naleving van de toepasselijke wet- en regelgeving en contractuele verplichtingen
  2. Je ontwikkelt en implementeert juridische en risico gerelateerde strategieën, beleidslijnen en procedures
  3. Je staat in voor het opstellen, onderhandelen en beoordelen van complexe contracten, overeenkomsten en juridische documentatie
  • Je verstrekt deskundig en strategisch juridisch advies ter ondersteuning van de doelstellingen van de organisatie
  • Je beheert proces-, arbitrage- of bemiddelingsprocessen, hetzij rechtstreeks, hetzij via externe raadslieden
  • Je zorgt voor een actueel en effectief risico- en verzekeringsbeheer dat alle aspecten van de organisatie bestrijkt
  • Je adviseert en implementeert best practices op het gebied van corporate governance en compliance in een haven- en terminalomgeving
  • Je geeft leiding aan een team van een 7- tal medewerkers met elke hun eigen expertise en zorgt voor hun motivatie, groei en ontwikkeling
  • Je rapporteert aan de Managing Director
Profiel
  • Master in de rechten en 8 tot 10 jaar relevante ervaring, bij voorkeur binnen een internationale maritieme omgeving, havenoperaties of transport/logistiek
  • Leiderschapservaring en het vermogen om een team te begeleiden én te inspireren in een zeer dynamische en complexe werkomgeving
  • Uitstekende communicatie- en onderhandelingsvaardigen, dit zowel in het Nederlands als het Engels. Kennis van het Frans is een pluspunt
  • Kennis/ervaring van relevante wet- en regelgeving, zoals maritiem recht, havenwetgeving, milieu- en veiligheidsnormen
  • Sterke kennis van corporate governance, compliance, risicomanagement en verzekeringsvraagstukken
  • Proactieve en pragmatische benadering van problemen, met het vermogen om strategisch te denken en oplossingsgericht te handelen
