SOFTWARE ASSET MANAGEMENT SPECIALISTLocation: Brussels, BelgiumContract Duration: Until the end of 2027Job Status: Full-TimeStart Date: ASAPAccount Manager: Anthony HughesRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Software Asset Management Specialist to support the management and optimisation of a large-scale IT software portfolio. This role combines administrative, analytical, and stakeholder management responsibilities, working closely with IT, Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure software licenses are managed efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively throughout their lifecycle.
ResponsibilitiesManage the full software license lifecycle, from request and approval through to acquisition, deployment, renewal, and retirementMaintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of software licenses and related assetsAnalyse software contracts, licensing terms, and usage rights in collaboration with IT, Procurement, and Finance teamsMonitor software usage and identify opportunities for optimisation, cost reduction, and licence rationalisationTrack renewals, compliance requirements, and potential licensing risksDevelop and maintain reporting, dashboards, and management metrics to support decision-makingMonitor key KPIs including active licenses, renewal schedules, compliance risks, and cost-saving opportunitiesSupport continuous improvement initiatives within Software Asset Management processesCoordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective license governance and complianceRequirementsMinimum 3 years' experience in Software Asset Management, License Management, IT Asset Management, IT Procurement, or a related fieldStrong understanding of software licensing models and software asset management principlesExperience managing software inventories, renewals, compliance activities, and vendor contractsKnowledge of SAM and ITAM tools and methodologiesStrong analytical skills with experience using Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar reporting toolsExperience creating reports, dashboards, and data-driven recommendationsExcellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detailAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectivelyStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsFluent in English with either French or DutchThe Next StepThis is an excellent opportunity to join a major organisation and contribute to the effective management and optimisation of its software asset portfolio.
