This long term assignment is open for employees or freelancers. PM Group is a leading International engineering, architecture, project and construction management firm. With a network of offices in Europe, Asia and the US and a multi-discipline team of 3,700 people, we deliver complex, capital projects in the life sciences, food and beverages, mission critical/ICT, advanced manufacturing, energy and environmental sectors. Responsibilities As part of the Princess Elisabeth Island team: You are a safety leader, continuously looking for safety enhancements You ensure timely delivery as well as quality and safety of your assigned tasks You seek out design opportunities to bring additional benefit to the project You report pro-actively and regularly regarding status and progress of your responsibilities You can independently manage and implement specific work packages and engage with relevant contractors, suppliers and internal experts where required. As Project Engineer Primary Systems: You are part of the "HVDC System & Onshore Substation" Package and report to the Package Manager; You work in a multi-disciplinary team of Project Leaders, Project Engineers, Experts, Procurement officer, HSE advisors, PMO officer, … You assist the Package Manager in delivering the Primary Systems (e.g., HV equipment) of the HVDC substations (offshore and onshore) In particular: You coordinate all the technical and engineering tasks of the Discipline; You lead a multi-disciplinary team of experts; You act as SPOC for the Primary Systems; You timely review the applicable design, engineering, material and project documents related to the Discipline; You participate in the relevant technical, discipline and project design review workshops; You propose and ensure an inherently safe and ergonomic design; You participate in the relevant production inspections and witness the relevant FAT; You perform inspections on the Onshore Site (Herdersbrug) and confirm Mechanical Completion of the relevant installations and equipment; You witness the relevant commissioning activities on the Onshore Site; You provide technical support to the construction and commissioning teams; You consult and align with the relevant stakeholders and experts/engineers; You check and proactively report conformance or non-conformance to the relevant parts of the Laws, Employer's Requirements and Technical Standards; You perform regular reports regarding Discipline status and progress, including risks, opportunities and issues; You cooperate on the interfaces between the Primary Systems and the rest of the Project; Qualifications You have a Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent by experience; Experience with HVDC projects is a plus; You are highly motivated to work in a team and cooperate with others You are an excellent communicator (verbally, written, strong listener, … ) You are organized and results oriented; You are assertive and good at facilitating consensus; You are able to work under pressure; You are a quick learner; You are driven by innovative entrepreneurship and not deterred by challenges; You are proactive and a problem-solver; You can prioritise and act accordingly; You can work in an international project environment; Fluent in English (oral & writing), Dutch and/or French are a plus
