Join Contraste as a Data Engineer on a permanent or freelance contract in Brussels.Scope: data integration, data modeling, PowerBI support, Azure-based infrastructure.Location: Brussels, 2 days remote.Languages: French or Dutch and EnglishExperience: strong SQL, Dimensional Modeling (Kimball), PowerBI, Databricks, Azure Data tools.The context:Program called “Smart Data Factory” (SmDF) to support & facilitate decision-making & digitalization.Our data platform integrates internal data from cross functional business systems as well as relevant external sources with a view to deliver Data Products to all areas of the business.Our architecture:Our infrastructure is mainly Azure-based. We are migrating from TimeXtender as data warehouse and integration platform to Databricks and scaling Databricks towards Advanced analytics and AI. We use PowerBI as business analytics service.Considering the growing number of business requests, we are actively looking for a data engineer that will participate to the analysis & implementation of data warehouses, datamarts and visuals. This also involves the definition & setup of data sources & related connections.Your mission:Analyse business requirements and detail functional and technical requirementsIdentify and setup required data sources,Develop data staging approaches, model and produce datamarts by challenging and implementing functional & technical requirements ensuring semantic coherence,Pay attention to non-functional requirements: security, maintainability, performance, …As the PowerBI visuals implementation by business is privileged, be able to train and support business users in the usage of produced datamarts,Depending on business maturity:Develop PowerBI visuals,Provide support and training to business users so that the delivered visuals are correctly and actively used,Provide training, coaching and support to the business that implement PowerBI visualsPerform all above activities in collaboration with other Digital teams in coherence with Digital processes and architectural landscape,Respect and follow all guidelines and practices in the field of BI Reporting,Respect priorities and timing of the projects’ plans.Your profile:Superior SQL skillsKnowledge of Ralph Kimball’s dimensional modelling with proven experience, and general data modelling capabilities,Good knowledge of PowerBI,Good Databricks and Data Lakehouse knowledges,Knowledge of Azure analytics suite tools (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL),Good knowledge of Python,Good knowledge of SQL (mainly DML),Besides that, also having knowledge of the following concepts or tools will be considered as a plus:Modelling tool Sparx Enterprise Architect,Agile practices (Scrum),Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD,Spark Knowledge,Data science knowledge,TimeXtender (data warehouse automation),High level knowledge of SAPPrevious experience in the energy sector would be considered as a plus.Discover Contraste EuropeContraste Europe is a key player in the IT sector and operates on an international scale.
