Role Overview:
As an Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our accounts payable processes. This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about leading a team to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a group of accounts payable clerks, ensuring tasks are assigned according to availability, skills, and developmental needs. Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and constructive feedback to enhance team productivity.
- Process Management: Oversee the accurate coding of invoices, preparation and processing of electronic payments, check runs, and deposits, ensuring compliance with payment criteria and company policies.
- Financial Reconciliation: Monitor and reconcile accounts payable transactions and supplier accounts, addressing discrepancies promptly and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Compliance and Training: Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies. Provide training to departments on accounts payable procedures, fostering a culture of best practices.
- Problem Solving: Act as the primary point of contact for resolving queries, assisting with month-end close processes, and collaborating with other departments to streamline operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve methods and procedures within the accounts payable unit, driving efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in French or Flemish-Dutch is a plus. Additional language skills are a bonus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
- Proven track record in managing accounts payable functions and driving process improvements.
