We are looking for a Senior Structured Underwriter - ART, based in Belgium. Your Team The Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) line of business of Allianz Commercial creates innovative tailored structured insurance, captive reinsurance, and other non-traditional risk management solutions for a wide range of corporate and financial clients globally. We specialize in helping our customers mitigate their most complex risks with bespoke multi-year and multi-line agreements covering a broad range of risks, leveraging our expertise in alternative risk transfer and the global capabilities of the Allianz Group. The Impact You Will Have In this role, you will drive the underwriting of profitable new and renewal business to achieve regional and global Line of Business targets. You will take ownership of large accounts, negotiating participation, pricing, and terms and conditions. As a key player in the team, you will provide training and development for underwriters and serve as a referral point. Your ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients will be crucial, alongside your specialized technical expertise as a lead for at least one sub-Line of Business. Some of your specific responsibilities could include: Underwriting activities in EU/FOS countries (all activities are allowed cross-border) Responsibility for all transactions booked on the Belgium balance sheet Oversight over policy issuance, payments, operational aspects Support fronting activities/initiatives in EU/FOS Contract management, endorsement Collaboration with ART EMEA and ART London Support Belgium and French business generation Reporting into Head ART EMEA What You’ll Bring to the Role: Underwriting Expertise: Proven track record in underwriting profitable business with minimum 5-7 years' experience and specialized understanding of LoB products and portfolio. Risk Assessment and Management: Ability to assess inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to Lines of Business (LoB). Pricing and Market Management: Analyze current performance against benchmarks, considering market operations, business needs, and customer needs. Contract Drafting and Interpretation: Design, develop, and implement consistent, robust contract wordings. Policy Management: Comprehensive understanding of policy administration life cycle, including information collection, issuance, premium bookings, credit control, and cancellation. Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of regional/local LoB insurance markets, competitor landscape, and global elements. Communication and Influencing Skills: Ability to clearly express ideas and messages, persuade and motivate others, and analyze complex data from multiple sources.
