Internal Auditor – Focus on Model & Credit Risk

Internal Audit is an independent function within the organization, ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of internal governance. Using a systematic, risk-based approach, the team evaluates risk management systems, internal controls, and financial models to safeguard operational integrity.

We are seeking an Internal Auditor who is eager to gain broad insights into the organization's business model and critically assess governance and processes. This role emphasises identifying and addressing key risks, particularly in model risk and credit risk.


RequirementsKey Responsibilities
  • Conduct audit assignments across multiple banking domains, assessing business risks—including credit risk, model risk, and financial model integrity.
  • Evaluate internal controls and risk management frameworks to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Analyze financial models, including those used for asset-liability management (ALM), derivatives, and credit risk assessments, ensuring their robustness and impact on risk exposure.
  • Perform interviews, documentation reviews, and data analysis to assess the integrity of risk models.
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations to management, advising on improvements in governance, risk control, and financial modeling practices.
  • Raise awareness of potential model-related risks and monitor the implementation of audit recommendations.
Your Profile
  • A Master's degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience in the financial sector.
  • Several years of experience in Audit or Risk, ideally with exposure to credit risk, model risk, ALM, or derivatives. Certifications such as CIA or CISA (or a willingness to obtain them) are a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and defend complex financial models and risk topics to senior management.
  • Experience in mathematical modeling, model validation, and credit risk assessment is highly desirable.
  • A proactive, independent, and results-driven approach, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in Dutch or French, with a strong command of English.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to offices in different locations.
