We are currently looking for a Junior QC Lab Technician (shift: 6am-2.30pm) to join the Analytical team. At this production unit we perform different QC tests to manufactured, purified and final oligo’s before they are shipped to customer. QC tests include mass spectrometry, reverse phase, ion exchange, capillary electrophoresis, endotoxin and signal to noise tests.

Some of the main aspects of this job are carefully analyzing mass spec. reverse phase and capillary electrophoresis results and check if these results are within IDT’s QC parameters. As the Analytical department is responsible for final QC checks on all the oligo’s manufactured in IDT Leuven, it is important to maintain smooth functioning of all lab equipment. Therefore it is an asset if you can perform small maintenance on equipment if needed.

**Responsibilities**:
Perform the Analytical HPLC runs, Mass Spectrometry, Analytical Quantifications and QC sampling of oligonucleotides.
Operate HPLCs, Mass Specs, CE and other instruments in the lab that are needed to perform job duties.
Assist in the processing and documentation of all orders and projects.
Keep all the reagent bottles at levels to achieve successful operation.
Change waste containers and dispose of waste material.
Perform all necessary decontamination procedures.
Appropriately document all aspects of production.
Fill out all required checklists and perform verification for others when necessary.
Assist the shipping and customer service departments with specific oligo related questions.
Report any problems to Shift Leader or Management.
Receive additional training throughout company
Perform other duties as specified by management.
Be aware of IDT’s policy on and contribute to quality and environmental management by adhering to the requirements of the ISO 9001, 13485 and 14001 standards and internal procedures and work instructions.

Job Qualifications
Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a Science related field or equivalent related experience.
Must have excellent computer skills which includes knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Must be punctual and maintain a high level of organization.
Must be able to troubleshoot problems and act accordingly.
Must be able to be on feet for a few hours at a time.
Must possess the ability to adapt to changes in the process.
Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to multi-task.
Must be able to interact in a professional manner with customers, employees, and all levels of management.
Must be able to work in a group or independently.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Other languages are a bonus.

**Ergonomic/physical requirements**:
Continuous standing and/or walking for 6-8 hours during the shift.
Intermittently grasping during shift, less than 4 hours cumulative.
Intermittently repetitive motion during shift, less than 4 hours cumulative.
Sporadic computer exposure off and on throughout the day, normally up to 6-8 hours.
