**CONTEXT/INTRODUCTION
DIGIT A, in partnership with Commission services and other stakeholders, provides high quality corporate Business Solutions (Information Systems), common frameworks and interoperable, reusable components enabling the successful implementation of the Commission's Digital Transformation and EU policies. DIGIT.A.4 builds, operates and supports re-usable solutions, promoting their use in information systems both in DIGIT and in the rest of the Commission. The reusable solutions are either developed internally or based on open source software, tailored to the needs of the European Commission. The services provided by the unit related to reusable solutions, include operations, helpdesk and training of the IT teams using those components. On top of this, the unit will provide support to other IT teams in order to help integrating these tools or services in their information systems. The later will be a crucial activity to foster re-usability. The unit liaises with other units developing information systems, both in DIGIT and in the rest of the Commission, contributing to architectural and systems rationalization initiatives. The end goal is to minimise the development cost of corporate and local systems, to standardize and harmonize as much as possible the architecture of information systems and reduce the overall cost of operation and maintenance of information systems. One of the main programs is Compass Corporate - Commission wide workflow eco-system developed in close cooperation with RTD, AGRI, REGIO and EMPL. The target of Compass Corporate eco-system is to facilitate the reuse of IT components, building blocks, corporate interfaces and business processes.

This brings the focus on reusability, efficiency, interoperability and on the corporate dimension. In order to achieve our mission, we will:

- develop and promote the eUi framework
- ensure awareness of reusable solutions and their potential (especially amongst Business Analysts, Solutions Architects, IRMs)
- maintain close collaboration with the competence centres in DIGIT B.4 in order to ensure the adoption of the reusable solutions in their projects
- collaborate with DIGIT A,B C, & S for service delivery and evolution The future Reusable Solutions Platform, i.e. the RSP+, is expected to be an integrated hybrid (on premises/cloud) that would provide seamless interoperability between reusable solutions developed in-house and solutions sourced from COTS (e.g. SAP, MS Power Platform, ServiceNow, UiPath, etc.). Such solutions will complement and sometimes replace the current RSP solutions. In this context, DIGIT.A.4 wishes to obtain the expertise of an Operating system deployment engineer to join the Compass Corporate Operations team in DIGIT A4. The solution assignment may change over time, according to the portfolio/project/service needs.

**DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS
- Operating the various components part of the “Compass Corporate” environments.
- Improve the reliability and availability of the platform.
- Monitor and proactively address the potential issues of the platform.
- Provision of expert advice and assistance on the installation, configuration and tuning of tools and platforms required for the "Compass Corporate" microservices based infrastructure. These include: Oracle, Elastic Search, Apache, Redis, Rundeck, Ansible, Vault.
- Configuration of automation and configuration management tools such as Rundeck and Ansible.
- Linux systems administration tasks and scripting.
- Monitor system performance and availability, identify and resolve issues that may cause service disruptions, and proactively prevent potential incidents
- Manage backups and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a system failure or other major disruption.
- Identify potential security vulnerabilities or compliance issues and implement measures to mitigate those risks.
- Responde to and resolve technology-related incidents and service requests, including troubleshooting issues and escalate problems as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as data privacy regulations, cybersecurity frameworks, and ITIL best practices
- Configure the lifecycle of the microservices in a container-based infrastructure.
- Define and configure monitoring dashboards.
- Define and configure the alerting policies for the operation team.
- Collaborate with team members for operations support
- Document and provide training on the procedures in place.
- Enhance automation level.

**LEVEL OF EDUCATION**

As stated in the Article 2.6.3.1. of DIGIT-TM II Service requirements, a minimum educational qualification for lot 3 is: Level of education corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualification Framework which typically corresponds to a master degree of 5 years.
