**About the lab**:
The **Laboratory of Neuronal Communication**, led by Prof. **Patrik Verstreken**, is part of the **VIB-KU Leuven Center for Brain & Disease Research** at Gasthuisberg Campus (**Leuven**, Belgium). We are a team of more than 30 international scientists/ admin. staff interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms of healthy **synaptic function** and pathogenic **synaptic dysfunction** in the context of **neurodegenerative diseases**, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. For this aim, we use classical models (fruit flies, mice, human induced pluripotent stem cells ) as well as innovative and underexplored models (hibernation in golden hamsters).

We are seeking a **motivated** and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a (junior) Laboratory Technician. In this role, you will work closely with postdoctoral researchers and PhD students to conduct both **animal** (mice, hamsters) **and cell culture** (mouse primary neurons, human iPSC-derived neurons) **experiments**, assist in data collection and analysis as well as support laboratory management. You will collaborate with team members to optimize experimental workflows, troubleshoot problems, and achieve project objectives.

**Profile**:

- You hold a **Bachelor's** degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry or equivalent
- You are well **organized** and able to accurately document your work
- You can work **independently** and perform well in a **team**:

- You are proficient in written and spoken **English**:

- You have previous **laboratory experience**:

- You have experience in **mouse work** and preferably a FELASA B
