**Our practice group Unfair Competition and Consumer Protections excel in advice, litigation, contract drafting and setting up commercial actions. Clients include leading businesses in various sectors (including the clothing, food, telecom and retail industries), trade associations and public authorities. Our team members are regular guest speakers at seminars and universities, and have also published extensively on topics relating to unfair competition law and consumer protections.**
**In order to support the growth of our practice, we are looking for a Junior Associate with a passion to deliver top-notch work.**
Job description
- As a Junior Associate Unfair Competition and Consumer Protection, you will:
- Provide hands-on advice on national and European consumer protection rules, including pre-contractual and contractual information obligations, sales guarantees, price announcements, the requirements for distance selling, e-commerce and online platforms;
- Flag unfair commercial practices towards both consumers and competitors;
- Review contracts (including distribution and agency agreements), terms and conditions, information on webshops, and more, in both a B2C and B2B context;
- Assist with labelling and information requirements for foodstuffs and other products;
- Represent clients before court, in particular in cease-and-desist claims and damage claims;
- Negotiate with inspection authorities or in administrative procedures;
- You have a Belgian law degree with an excellent academic record;
- You have a passion for law and working on high-profile, challenging cases, in which you are not afraid to take responsibility;
- You have strong analytical skills and you are able to communicate your thoughts and findings in a clear, comprehensive and convincing manner;
- You are fluent (both written and spoken) in Dutch, English and French;
- You are a team player and you excel in personal connections.
