Junior Associate

We are looking for a committed Junior Associate to become a part of our Environment & Chemicals Public Affairs team. The Traineeship Programme is intended to provide young, skilled graduates with the opportunity to gain experience in one of the leading public affairs agencies in Brussels, as well as exposure to a broad range of EU actors, policies, and processes. The new Junior Associate will be integrated into a dynamic team of enthusiastic public affairs professionals who are constantly striving to enhance their services for our expanding clientele.

**Location**: Brussels, Belgium (hybrid, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office)

**Responsibilities**
- Provide regular political intelligence to our Environment & Chemicals clients through monitoring of information sources, intelligence gathering, and attending relevant events.
- Draft written materials, such as intelligence bulletins and reports, stakeholder mapping, policy papers, issue briefings, press releases, and presentations.
- Manage aspects of client accounts and take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of related tasks and related policy issues.
- Implement outreach programs towards the European institutions, agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of public affairs campaigns and communication programs.
- Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses and issues and build relationships of trust with client personnel.
- Support the preparation of new business proposals.
- Play a role in internal company activities and programs.
- Network to deepen professional expertise and knowledge.

**Qualifications**
- University degree or equivalent.
- At least one previous professional experience in European Affairs (consultancy, trade association, in-house, EU institutions or agencies).
- Thorough knowledge of the EU institutions and decision-making processes (ordinary legislative procedure and secondary legislation).
- Understanding and willingness to learn more about EU environmental and chemicals policies.
- Excellent English with great written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in an international team.
- Exceptional organizational skills.

**Assets**
- Additional EU language.
- Previous experience working on environmental and/or chemicals policy.
- Digital savviness and digital creativity (visual communications, use of AI tools).
