The Data Solutions division is the commercial data business of Moody’s Analytics, bringing together a vast catalogue of data to help business decision-makers assess risks and opportunities. We are best known for Orbis, the world’s most comprehensive database of public and private companies. We are also the definitive source of ratings-related data for companies and securities that have been rated by Moody’s Investors Service. Role/Responsibilities
- As a member of the Publication Operations team, the Assistant Director or Senior Data Specialist will be responsible for taking business information from hundreds of millions of companies through our data pipeline using existing ETL processes.
- Handle the quality of the firmographic data elements from ingestion to publication
- Work with Product and Sales teams to develop knowledge on our customer’s use cases and understand business requirements
- Define and implement and improve procedures for modifying and publishing data originating from hundreds of sources globally.
- Monitor data quality metrics and perform quality checks, report anomalies and work with technology teams to resolve them.
- Provide and update documentation regarding collection methods, internal procedures, definitions and metadata
- Support clients and internal partners with data-related requests.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science or related major, Master’s degree is a plus.
- A Senior Data Specialist at Moody’s would have a 3+ years of professional Data Operations experience. For an Assistant Director Data Specialist this would be 5+ years.
- Understand all aspects of ETL processes
- Experience with Master Data Management tools and processes is an advantage.
- Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills which bring clarity and precision to help management understand and visualize sophisticated material to support organizational decision-making
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to recognize and comprehend complex issues, processes, and requirements regarding managing large data sets
- Willing to learn new technologies, capable of self-directed learning.
- Experience writing SQL and/or Python queries
