**The role:
The Executive Management function provides cross-Agency coordination of activities to ensure that General Manager (GM) and Chief of Staff (COS) guidance and tasks are synchronized and achieved. Reporting to the GM the Head EM is responsible for the management and execution of the Office of the GM and COS at the NCI Agency.

As a member of the Executive Leadership team The Head EM advises the GM and COS daily on a range of complex issues facing the Agency both internally and externally. The Head of EM will be a conduit for the broader Executive Leadership team of the Agency in constant contact with all Directors and Directorates, Heads of Service and Executive Management section heads enabling them to operate effectively whilst ensuring the GM and COS are fully coordinated and aligned in leading the Agency strategic priorities.

The Head of EM have responsibility for a team of 30+ highly experienced civilian and military professionals who engage daily with all parts of the Agency, NATO committees, national industries, diplomatic delegations and international organizations. The role will set priorities and ensure the team are fully motivated, informed and consistently represent the Agency in the best possible light. The Head of EM and the team will work closely with Agency leadership, Chair of the Agency Supervisory Board (ASB), and Secretariat to ensure that NATO Communications and Information Organisation (NCIO) elements are unified in meeting the responsibilities in the North Atlantic Council (NAC) approved Charter

- A Master’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 10 years post-related experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 15 years post-related experience
- At least 10 years relevant experience, including significant exposure to the political and military environments and to the international community (e.g. as a member of international organizations, as a national representative in international panels)
- Experience working and negotiating in a multi-national environment
- Proven leadership of teams and management of staff, with a track-record of building esprit de corps, ideally in an international organization with a diverse and geographically dispersed employee base
- Ability to cope with a large workload at pace, in a complex and dynamic environment
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, including prioritisation and consensus building
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Excellent briefing skills, involving various types of audience
- Ability to understand and assess complex technical issues, and to prepare papers and briefs for Agency Executives

**Desirable Experience and Education**:

- Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization.
- Knowledge of NATO stakeholders and decision-making processes.
- Experience working in the NATO board and committee structure.
- Formal qualification(s) in management.
