JOB TITLE: Lead Structural. FUNCTION: To contribute to Europe and Belgium's ambitions for the Energy Transition, the company has foreseen to extend its offshore high voltage grid, by constructing the Princess Elisabeth Island. The island shall be a hub to connect the new Belgian windfarms situated within the "Princess Elisabeth Windfarm zone". The concept the company is currently considering is to build and construct: - An artificial energy island (with offshore transmission infrastructure); - Multiple AC substations at 66kV & 220 kV (The windfarms are to be connect at the 66kV level = scope windfarm owners); - 6x 220kV AC export cable systems of 50 km each; - HVDC connection (1 converter offshore, 1 converter onshore, HVDC cable system) between the artificial island and the new substation 'TBD' of the Ventilus project; - Possibility to connect future HVDC interconnectors. The project currently progresses in the tender stage, which to be followed by the detailed engineering and subsequently onshore construction phase. EXPECTATIONS: - Reports to the AC or DC substation Package Manager. - Coordinates engineers and experts. - Is responsible for managing the structural steel and layouting aspects of the substations: - Contact person for EPC Contractor; - Detailed engineering of offshore substations; - Corrosion protection; - Accessible and maintainability of the substations; - Quality control (including third party approval). - Coordinates with other disciplines within the team: - Utilities; - HV equipment; - Civil Works; - Other packages; - T&I;... PROFILE: - You have at least 8 years of relevant working experience: - Experience in the offshore sector is a plus; - Experience with structural engineering of offshore platforms is a large plus. - Education: Engineer (preferably structural). - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Working in team and structured. - A quick learner. - Excellent MS Office skills. Fluent in English (Dutch, French is a plus). WORKING HOURS & WORKPLACE: - Full time. - 5 days a week in Brussels (+/-2 days homeworking possible). - Preferably full time resident in Belgium. - Short business trips to contractors (more extensive during construction).
