Data Scientist

**Description de l'emploi**
A data scientist is responsible for using advanced visualization and modelling techniques to identify forward looking insight from data. A data scientist will analyze large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help improve organizational performance. He/she will be relied on to build data solutions to provide one off or repeatable insights:

- Create, train, optimize and deploy machine learning models with large data sets with machine learning algorithms and/or big data solutions.
- Develop and demonstrate improved analysis methodologies and educate fellow team members
- Implement large-scale data ecosystems including data management, governance and the integration of structured and unstructured data to generate insights leveraging cloud-based platforms
- Leverage automation, cognitive and science-based techniques to manage data, predict scenarios and prescribe actions
- Identify opportunities for improved analysis or improved efficiency through better use of statistical tools
- Act as an in-between the data science team and the data engineering team, keeping in mind the challenges on both sides
- Make big amounts of data, tell stories and create change through the development of insights and algorithms
- Deliver analytically-informed, issue-based solutions that help make faster, smarter decisions
- Create simulations and optimizations that help determine the best action or strategy, e.g. market strategy impact, sales effectiveness, multi-factor risks effects.

He/She will also participate to the functional data analysis for data projects in order to secure the delivery of the data strategy. This implies collaborating with business entities, build IT team and results in data analysis coordination for those projects.

**Le profil**
- Strong background in statistical concepts and calculations
- Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
- Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis and analytic approaches in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
- Ability Mine and analyze data from department databases to drive optimization and improvement of mission processes and outcomes
- Ability to derive insights from large datasets in an orderly process from business and data understanding to preparation, modelling, evaluation and deployment
- Ability to collaborate with different kind of stakeholders, understand their needs and centralize them into the data analysis documentation
- Experience in the insurance field will be considered as an asset
- Quantitative Academic Degree, minimum 2-5 years of experience
- Knowledge of R / Shiny - Python (Anaconda distribution) will be considered as an asset
- Fluent FR, working proficiency of professional EN, NL will be considered as an asset
