We are looking for a Research Assistant to join our R&D team based in Liège, Belgium working on development of new assays for our molecular diagnostics portfolio. As a Research Assistant you will be responsible for performing experiments to support assay development and troubleshooting while collaborating and communicating effectively.

**Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to**:

- Performs mínimally complex experiments with input from supervisor
- Understands experimental goal and may provide input to the experimental design
- Analyzes data from individual experiments with input from supervisor and documents work in laboratory notebook or report
- Able to summarize a group of experiments
- With instruction from supervisor, may write study protocols and reports to support part of the project
- Effectively communicates with peers and supervisor. Able to present data in group meetings.
- Willing and able to work with Universal Precautions when handling different specimen types including, but not limited to blood, stool, urine, respiratory swabs, vaginal swabs, etc.
- Participates in laboratory tasks, including, but not limited to, lab, material, and instrument maintenance

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology or similar scientific track
- Knowledge of and experience with PCR techniques is an asset
- Fluent in French and understanding written English. Spoken English is an asset.
- Rigorous, detailed and solution orientated
- Autonomous as well as being a collaborative team player
- Natural learner who is easily adaptable to change and new projects
