A Front Office Manager is responsible for supervising the support staff, managing the first impressions of our Guests and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

- Oversee the entire Front Office operation to maintain high standards.
- Showing initiative, Problem solving, Team leading.
- Evaluate levels of Guest satisfaction and monitor trends, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Handles any guest complaints or contentious issues that cannot be settled directly by team members and provides a fast solution.
- Ensure regular and VIP Guests are recognised and that the Front Office department operates with a sales attitude and promotes the hotel brand's loyalty scheme.
- Review arrival list for all arrivals and VIPs to check room allocations, amenities and special requests.
- Maximise room occupancy at best rates and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities - Set departmental objectives, work schedules, budgets, policies, and procedures
- Monitor the appearance, standards, and performance of the Front Office Team Members with an emphasis on training and teamwork
- Manages and motivates the Front Office team in order to provide a high standard of service for customers.
- Ensures that all front desk employees are well presented (uniforms, personal hygiene etc), and also punctual.
- Provide high level of customer service and maintain a high profile in the day to day front office operations.
- Welcomes guests and fosters customer loyalty through his/her friendly manner.
- Develops high quality relationships with guests throughout their stay.
- Ensure Team Members have current knowledge of hotel products, services, pricing and policies, as well as knowledge of the local area, and are continuously trained to learn and understand policies and practices.
- Makes sure that the hotel’s pricing policy and sales pitches are duly applied in order to optimise REVPAR.
- Have a good knowledge of all systems and standard operating procedures of front office.
- Ensures that guest documentation and information is available and up-to-date.
- Supervises the management of debtors, group and individual guest invoicing and cash operations.
- Maintain good communication and working relationships with all hotel departments
- Monitor staffing levels to meet cover business demands
- Conduct monthly department communication meetings and produce minutes
- Present morning meeting of the hotel
- Participation in manager on duty as request.
- Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Recruit, manage, train and develop the Front Office team.
- Controls cost effectively to meet budget guidelines.
- Know all frequent customers and be familiar with their special requests. Ensure that their needs are met.
- Ensures that all procedures and policies are in place and followed.
