**Function**:
The Prevention Department advises employees and management on implementation of the Belgian Social Welfare Act (Welzijnswet). The duties of the internal prevention advisors at Elia focus mainly on occupational safety, environmental aspects, basic ergonomics, basic health, workplace enhancement, basic occupational hygiene and basic psychosocial aspects.
We are looking for a colleague with extensive expertise in the field of fire, evacuation and emergency planning.
- guide, advise, facilitate and raise awareness among employees about the correct implementation of the Belgian Social Welfare Act;
- assist the employer, line managers and employees in the development, programming, implementation and evaluation of the policy determined by the dynamic risk management system;
- assume an independent, objective and neutral stance in the organisation, in an accessible manner but with in-depth expertise of and insight into welfare matters;
- collaborate with various H&S managers and prevention advisors;
- investigate and analyse accidents at work, incidents and hazardous situations; audit and visit the workplace;
- prepare and update risk analyses of fire safety, emergency plans, digital intervention files and fire prevention files;
- prepare and update fire and evacuation procedures and instructions;
- maintain contacts with various emergency services in order to optimise collaboration;
- visit the workplace with fire safety in mind; raise employees’ awareness of and train them in fire-safe behaviour; train First Intervention Team members.

**Your Profile**:

- You are an experienced level 1 or 2 prevention advisor;
- You have experience with the preparation of fire risk analyses (practical insight and a good knowledge of the relevant legislation);
- You are practical but also able to contribute your thoughts and ideas at a process-oriented and strategic level;
- You have strong administration skills and are comfortable using standard Office tools like Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint and MS Teams;
- You are independent and results-oriented and develop an action plan that provides a systematic approach to fire safety;
- You are empathetic, have strong communication skills and good powers of persuasion;You have a proactive and results-oriented mindset.You are fully bilingual in Dutch and French; any other language would be an advantage.
