Internship - Earth Observation Applications & User

**We are looking for an Intern to support the Project Manager, Community Manager and Developers during the pre-operational and initial operational phases of a newly developed Earth Observation data processing platform.**

**Assignment**
The Services Department provides end-to-end services for the development and operation of complex systems. The Department includes complete teams to manage, coordinate and execute service provision as well as individuals, experts in many scientific and engineering domains as well as staff experienced in operations and training. The Department also supports the development and operations of services provided through a new Earth Observation data processing platform.
The Internship location is in our main office at Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area).
The Internship is available in the **Services** Department.
The Internship duration is* 6 months internship.*
**Tasks and Responsibilities**
This will include but will not be limited to:

- Identification of user domains, user groups and individual potential users (organisations and individuals)
- Assessment of user needs and interests in interaction with potential users
- Transfer of user data or identification of users’ interests
- Collaborate and contribute to the parallel community building activity
- Interface with the development and integration team for the required customisations
- Support the transition from a pre-operational to an operational service (process and procedures).
**Skills and Experience**
Depending on the Internship’s scope of work, a selection of the following is desirable:

- Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree or a similar university program in Space Sciences, Remote Sensing, Communication or Project Management
- Passionate about Earth Observation
- Experience with Earth Observation data processing
- Software or script development experience
- Ability to take initiatives, be flexible, organised and work collaboratively in a team
- Strength to self-disciplined, with a problem-solving approach and work ethic
- Excellent written and spoken English.
