De Bouwkundig Ingenieur is verantwoordelijk voor het gedeelte Burgerlijke Bouwkunde binnen de multidisciplinaire projecten van onderstations en dit vanaf de definitiefase tot bij het afsluiten van het project. Hij staat met name in voor de studie en de opvolging van de realisatie van het bouwkundig gedeelte van die projecten.
- het uitwerken van technische oplossingen tijdens de ontwerpfase en het vastleggen van de bouwkundige concepten voor het project in lijn met de bestaande standaarden;
- het lanceren van on-site proeven (stabiliteit, vervuiling, asbest,...)
- het opstellen en beheren van budgetten;
- het opstellen en beheren van de planning van de projecten en van alle projecten onderling waarvoor hij verantwoordelijk is;
- het opstellen en beheren van het scenario der werken;
- het uitschrijven van de te realiseren werken in de projectnota;
- het coordineren en opvolgen van de architectuurplannen in het kader van de vergunningsaanvragen;
- het beheren, coordineren en opvolgen van de uitvoeringsstudies, d.w.z. de stabiliteitsstudies van de bouwkundige constructies en het laten opmaken van de plannen;
- het aansturen en controleren van externe studiepartners;
- het opstellen van de bijzondere technische specificaties en prijzenborderel voor het contracteren van de aannemers;
- samen met Aankoop ervoor zover dat een Contractant wordt aangesteld voor het uitvoeren van de bouwkundige werken;
- het opvolgen en coordineren van de werven en de aannemers en het aansturen van de werfopzichter Burgerlijke Bouwkunde;
- het onderhouden van contacten met overheden en omwonende samen met de medewerkers van Public Acceptance;
- het deelnemen aan de opleveringen van de aannemingen;
- het evalueren van de Contractanten
- het technisch en financieel afsluiten van het project.
