Project Manager

JOB TITLE: Project Leader Substations. GENERAL INFO: To contribute to Europe and Belgium's ambitions for the Energy Transition, the company has foreseen to extend its offshore high voltage grid, by constructing MOG 2 (Modular Offshore Grid 2). The grid shall connect the new Belgian windfarms situated within the "Princess Elisabeth Windfarm zone". The concept that the company is currently considering is to build and construct: - An artificial energy island (with offshore transmission infrastructure); - Multiple AC substations at 66kV & 220 kV (The windfarms are to be connect at the 66kV level = scope windfarm owners); - 6x 220kV AC export cable systems of 50 km each; - HVDC connection (1 converter offshore, 1 converter onshore, HVDC cable system) between the artificial island and the new substation 'TBD' of the Ventilus project; - Possibility to connect future HVDC interconnectors. The project currently progresses in the concept and design phase. A lot of documentation is to be created, checked & approved in light of the upcoming tender phase for the HVDC infrastructures. EXPECTATIONS: As part of the MOG 2 team: - You are a safety leader, continuously looking for safety enhancements; - You ensure timely delivery as well as quality and safety of your assigned tasks; - You seek out design opportunities to bring additional benefit to the project; - You report pro-actively and regularly regarding status and progress of your responsibilities. As Project Leader - Substations: - You are part of the DC Substations team and report to the DC Substations Package Manager; - You work in a multi-disciplinary team and coordinate and cooperate with, amongst others, Project Leaders Substation, Project Leaders Civil Works, Project Engineers - Offshore Substations, Experts, Procurement Officers, HSE Advisors, PMO Officer,...; - You assist the DC Substations Package Manager in delivering the HVDC substations (offshore and onshore), in particular: - During the development stage of the project: - You participate in the development of the required concepts - You participate in the execution of the needed pre-studies - You participate in the development of the tender documents - You support the technical review and evaluations of the Bids as well as the clarifications and negotiations with the Bidders - During the execution stage of the project: - You participate in ensuring that the Works of the Contractor (e.g., detailed design and engineering, procurement, manufacturing, FAT, installation, commissioning,...) align with the quality and performance criteria as described in the Contract; - You manage the interfaces relevant to your field of responsibilities; - You coordinate inputs from the relevant different disciplines (civil works, structural steel, high voltage,...); You ensure adequate follow-up of external parties working on your assigned tasks (e.g., Client representatives, Owner's engineers,...). PROFILE: - You have at least 5 years of relevant working experience with project management. - Experience with project management of substation projects is a plus. - Experience in the offshore sector/platforms is a plus. - Experience with HVDC is a plus. - Experience with large infrastructure projects is a plus. - You have an engineering master. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Organized and results oriented. - Assertive. - Ability to work under pressure. - Comfortable with international contacts and relationships. - A quick learner. - Affinity towards engineering related topics. - Driven by innovative entrepreneurship and not deterred by challenges. - Excellent MS Office skills. Fluent in English; Dutch and French is a plus. EXTRA INFO: - Starting immediately for 1 year, long term extension likely. - Full time. - Main office in Brussels, however site visits will be required during project execution. - On average 3 days per week in the main office or on site. - Preferably full time resident in Belgium. - Possible short business trips to contractors, vendors, clients,...
