Degroof Petercam Asset Management (DPAM) is an independent active asset management firm part of a family owned group with its origins in 1871. Context
In order to strengthen our Degroof Petercam Asset Management Team, we are currently looking for a Legal Counsel.
You will report to the Head of Legal & Secretary General of Degroof Petercam Asset Management.
Your Position
In this role you will:
- Support Legal team in the business as usual (develop, review and make recommendations to proposed contracts, legal forms, letters, marketing material, licenses, with an international tilt and all legal documents to provide clarity and anticipate legal risks);
- Support Legal team in the implementation of regulatory projects (SFDR, SRDII, NFRD, etc.);
- Maintain good relationships with the regulatory authorities (FSMA) and represent the company at the Belgian Asset Management Association (BEAMA);
- Organize training sessions and keep informed the fund and institutional portfolio managers concerning legal evolutions;
- Ensure that legal opportunities and needs are effectively identified, anticipated, assessed and managed in a business-oriented manner in line with local laws, regulations and best professional practices;
Your Profile
- Belgian/Luxemburg Master in Law;
- Senior Legal Counsel between 3 to 5 years of experience as a lawyer familiar with the investment funds industry or at least familiar with the banking & finance industry;
- Fluent French or Dutch, and English;
- Solution oriented, organized and pro-active;
- Analytical thinker with sound business acumen, objectivity and accountability;
- Ability of translating complex theoretical principles towards the practical implications for the asset management business;
- Ability of building up good interpersonal relationship and like to work in close partnership with the people in the business.
