Aqua Publica Europea (APE) unites publicly-owned water and sanitation operators from 14 European countries to promote public water management at both European and international level. Overall, Aqua Publica members provide high quality water and sanitation services to over 80 million European citizens.

Aqua Publica and its members work to promote a sustainable and equitable access to water resources through effective solutions that serve public rather than corporate interests.

Aqua Publica is recruiting a Junior Project and Communications Officer to join the association’s Secretariat based in Brussels.

**Tasks**:

- Creating and editing content (newsletters, press releases, etc.) for both internal (members) and external audiences
- Supporting the Secretariat in managing Aqua Publica’s digital tools (website, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Proposing and designing new publications and other communication initiatives in collaboration with the rest of the Secretariat
- Managing internal and external contact databases
- Supporting the Secretariat with general membership and association management activities: facilitating exchanges among members, providing support on administrative and financial matters, managing Working Groups, etc.
- Organising internal and external events and meetings, as well as any other tasks that may be required

**Profile**

**_ Essential_**
- University degree in any relevant field, including communication and project management
- Outstanding written and spoken English and good understanding of spoken French; knowledge of another European language - in particular Spanish - would be an advantage
- Ability to understand the information needs of different types of audience and to adapt communication style and content accordingly
- Experience with social media management
- Good command of Excel
- Excellent organisational skills
- Interest in the mission of Aqua Publica
- Basic knowledge of ‘Content-Management-Systems’ for websites

**_ Desirable_**
- Knowledge of EU environmental policies
- Professional experience in European membership-based organisations
- Experience in project management, and in particular EU-funded projects
- Experience in designing print publications and other communication materials
- Knowledge of graphic design tools

**What we offer**

Full-time contract under Belgian law. APE will offer a salary in line with experience. The salary package includes “Chèques Repas”, hospitalization insurance, and partial reimbursement of transportation costs (public transport).
