**Function**:
As a grid studies assistant, you play a key and central role in the operational processes of the Grid Development department (GD) with teamwork occupying a major part of this position.

You support the carrying out of grid development studies. These studies make it possible to anticipate technical issues (voltage quality, overloads, short circuits, etc.) as well as problems on the grid. They also make it possible to determine appropriate operational practices or to propose reinforcement of the grid. The ultimate objective of these studies is to ensure a reliable energy supply for the Belgian market by considering the expectations of our customers and the community.

You therefore provide technical support that involves preparing grid models in the Power Factory software. This includes taking into account expected developments of the Belgian and foreign transmission grid as well as information provided by the distribution system operators and the load profiles expected by the different customers of the Elia grid.

You are also required to perform calculations, take a critical look at the results and summarise the results in reports.
Eventually, with experience, the role will evolve to encompass more autonomous responsibility for a set of processes involving external customers, including the management of connection requests (on the distribution network (CAPAC), certain transmission grid connections (EOS)) and short-circuit calculation requests.

You also provide technical and administrative support in the GD to translate investment decisions resulting from studies into business tools. You will use the SAP PnPi program that enables grid development needs to be linked to portfolio projects. In this context, you will be required to support the inputting and updating of projects in the tool and to generate reports.
Eventually, with experience, you will be able to challenge your colleagues on the data present in the tool and will guarantee its proper completion in the GD to ensure that the data is of high quality.

More specifically, this position encompasses the following duties:

- You prepare the grid models for the grid development studies.
- You translate, in the grid model, the data necessary for grid calculations, including the developments expected in the Belgian and foreign transmission grid and linked to the new information provided by the DSOs, the load profiles resulting from the different grid development scenarios as well as the expected commissionings of the different projects in the grid.
- You consolidate and document (e.g. diagrams in Visio) projects resulting from grid studies in accordance with the prescribed rules and procedures in order to ensure consistency with other current and future studies.
- You share information on new infrastructure with the operational departments to enable short-term analysis of the impacts of project commissioning.
- You run the calculations and analyse the results in collaboration with the grid study experts.
- You ensure the monitoring of common mailboxes: receipt of questions (requests for short-circuit power calculations, distribution network connections (CAPAC) as well as transmission grid connections (EOS)), initial analysis, channelling of communication with external parties.
- Eventually, you autonomously handle requests for simple transmission grid connection requests (EOS).
- You participate in the inputting of projects in the tools and ultimately guarantee the quality of the data they contain.
- You coordinate the updating of national single line drawings.
- You provide support to the team for occasional technical and administrative tasks.
- You generate reports for results and important processes for the grid development department.

**Your Profile**:

- You have an A2 degree in a technical administrative discipline (data management, statistics, electricity, etc.) or equivalent professional experience.
- You like working on a computer and have a good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).
- You are fluent in Dutch or French. Knowledge of the other national language is an advantage.
- You are thorough and have an eye for detail with excellent organisational skills.
- You have a customer-oriented approach.
