Communications Manager

The Communications Manager is responsible for:
- Managing all external communications for the EORTC ensuring its messages are consistent and in line with its mission and values.
- Overseeing and reporting EORTC events in collaboration with the Senior Events Manager
He/she reports to the EORTC CEO and works closely with him on the day-to-day projects.
**Main responsibilities / Major Activities**:
- Managing and coaching a team (2 digital multimedia designers, 1 communications coordinator, 1 publication coordinator, 6 persons for events coordination)
- Integrating scientific data information and the ability to use it in the EORTC communication
- Tailoring the communication to the target/audience (investigators, regulatory affairs, pharmaceutical industry, politics, patients, health organisations and Associations, Government Organisations,..)
- Developing digital marketing and communication plans to increase EORTC visibility and recognition.
- Facilitate and implement the external communication strategy for EORTC
- Overseeing scientific publications with the publication coordinator
- In charge of press releases, newsletters, and all communication tools and documentation
- Collaborating with all EORTC HQ departments and EORTC officers on different communication projects, as applicable
- Overseeing all EORTC conferences and meetings with the EORTC events team
**Profile**:
- At least 5 years experience in a similar position
- Native in English or excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Master’s degree in communication or in a relevant field
- Experience in people management
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Highly articulated individual with excellent written communication and presentation skills are essential
- Flexible and stress resistant
- Ability to multitask with ease adapting to frequently changing priorities
- Open-minded and solution-oriented
- Experience within the healthcare industry or in a scientific environment preferably on the EU level
- Oncology knowledge is an asset
