and neural network-based ROM [4]
This thesis topic is aimed at investigating and expanding PINN-based ROM, for simulation of transient heat transfer and/or vibrational problems. The focus will be on proper definition of the basis functions and novel neural network architectures dedicated to these problems. The physics-informed extreme learning machine [3] will be considered as an alternative for ROM and its efficiency will be evaluated. The developed techniques can be initially verified using simplified problems with close form solutions, and then evaluated for more complex problems against their finite element simulations.
The thesis outcome will provide valuable input for development of simulation toolboxes required for online monitoring and digital twining purposes, e.g. for in-process monitoring of additive manufacturing using thermal data [8] or dynamic system identification and fault diagnosis using vibrational data [9].
