Operations Analyst

IFC is seeking an Operations Analyst for its Europe Department with a focus on Western Europe.

The Europe Department is led by a Regional Director, based in Vienna, Austria. The Regional Director oversees Western Europe, which is headed by a Senior Manager, based in Paris, who is responsible for our relationship with the governments in Europe, Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and partner development finance institutions (DFIs), and the corporate and financial sector in 27 European countries, as well as with the European Union.
The Operations Analyst will support the Europe team and in particular the Head of IFC Brussels for the sub-region consisting of Belgium, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and on the institutional side the European Commission (EC), European Investment Bank (EIB) and European Development Financial Institutions (EDFI). The Operations Analyst will be based in Brussels, Belgium.

**Duties and accountabilities**:
The Operations Analyst will be assigned a variety of tasks related to country management, business development, relationship management with key clients and partners, and coordination of relationships with IFC stakeholders, including shareholders, development partner agencies, MDBs/DFIs, and private sector players.
This role requires interaction with various external parties in Western Europe as well as with other departments at IFC's headquarters in Washington DC and across the globe. It offers exposure to the interplay of public and private sector parties in the global development finance arena.
- Attend and monitor Government/EU meetings, track policy developments, and prepare briefs. Research new financial instruments and EU funding opportunities.
- Facilitate IFC management's engagement with EU entities, including organizing missions and events. Aid in planning and conducting visits by IFC management. Prepare for high-level meetings by creating briefs, taking notes, and drafting follow-up communications.
- Stay informed on EU trends to inform IFC's engagement strategy and communication updates.
- Conduct market analysis to identify new clients, perform due diligence, and create marketing materials for engagement efforts. Collaborate on business development strategies.
- Draft strategic documents, reports, and promotional materials for various stakeholders.
- Oversee the portfolio database and performance indicators for the Brussels office.
- Analyze economic and political trends in Western Europe to identify investment opportunities and political shifts.
- Support the planning and execution of major IFC events and partner meetings.
- Assist in organizing webinars and conferences for business development purposes.
- Manage databases, reports, and tracking systems; compile progress reports and documentation.
- Help develop and maintain strategic relationships with government officials, influencers, and media.
- Provide general support to the Head of Office for daily operations.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to address evolving organizational needs at CWE.

Selection Criteria
- Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of relevant work experience. A post graduate degree is a plus.
- An understanding of EU processes and an established network in key EU institutions is a plus, as is prior experience of international financial institutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and sound business judgment to identify issues and present creative and practical solutions.
- Eager to take on new challenges. Ability to thrive under pressure and function effectively in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, while working on multiple projects and at times with mínimal supervision.
- Strong client service orientation and high level of diplomacy with an openness to feedback and new ideas.
- A keen interest in development finance and working in a multicultural environment.
