Data Model Architect

**Context**

In a context where digitalization is increasing data availability and complexifying the analytics ecosystem, we understand that data is a key asset to empower the Luminus mission and IT and Business are working together to achieve the ambition to become more data-driven, delivering data products and insights for operational excellence.

To achieve this goal, Luminus IT has made the strategic choice for AWS and has built a new central Data Platform in the cloud to experiment and industrialize AI and ML for all the Business Departments. Currently a number of AI use cases have been developed and deployed on the Luminus Data Platform.

We want to build further on that and last year Luminus has started a Data Transformation Program with the ambition to:

- Install Data Governance capabilities
- Define the target operating model and internalize key roles

The IT Department is therefore hiring data professionals to grow its Data and Analytics team to develop and maintain end2end data products working together with Business Departments (Generation, Optimization, Retail and Corporate) in agile scrum teams.

In this context, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Data Model Architect who could help us to accelerate the development of internal knowledge and capabilities.

**Mission**

As a Data Model architect, you are part of our DNA (Data and Analytics) Platform team and you are involved in our Data Transformation Program.

You support business oriented scrum teams in the adoption of our new cloud Data Platform and Data Vault methodology, in the data migration from on premise DWH and developing new data products (BI and AI).

You are in charge of defining and maintaining our Corporate Data Model and you collaborate with the Data Governance team for a proper data documentation.

You collaborate with enterprise Architects in validating delivery choices and overall architecture.

**Key challenges**
- Builds, validates and consolidates the Corporate Data Model (in the data platform) and supervises its implementation
- Ensures all metadata is properly collected and stored in the Data Catalog (for data sources, data models, data pipelines)
- Participates in the Data Governance program as owner of the Corporate Data Model
- Understands the corporate key data entities, indicators, business rules and data transformations and promotes re-use of those across data domains and business lines
- Owns extensive knowledge of the data sources (availability, quality, sensitivity, exploitation, etc.)
- Participates in the company's architecture committees to evaluate the impact of different projects on the data domains and related entities
- Defines, trains and ensures proper implementation of data modelling standards, guidelines, patterns and best practices
- Supports data engineers/solutions designers in data modelling and resolving data modelling challenges
- Takes ownership of the Community of Practice for Data modelling
- Master’s degree in IT or Engineering
- Minimal 3 years hands-on experience and expertise in Data Vault 2.0 and Dimensional modelling
- Knowledge of AWS technologies and Snowflake is a plus
- Data Governance principles (ex. DAMA DMBoK), data compliancy challenges (such as GDPR requirements) and best practices.
- Experience in working in agile scrum teams
- Strong listening and communication skills (can talk both with business as with IT stakeholders)
