Janssen Research and Development, LLC, a member of Johnson & Johnson’s Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Solution Architect, Service & Application Management (SAM) - Service Now Platform. The position can be located in Raritan, NJ; Titusville, NJ; Chesterbrook, PA; Basel, Switzerland or Beerse, Belgium. Remote locations within North America and Europe may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the company.

This position resides within the Enabling Business Information Systems (EBIS) Clinical Operations Solutions (COS) and reports to the Head of Shared Solutions (SS). Responsibilities include the design and implementation of technical business customizations within the SAM Application including integrations, performance, major and minor releases. Act as technical SME for Operational, Business and Technical Support.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional Role:
- Lead the analysis and translation of business requirements into architectural blueprint proposing solutions to achieve complete business objectives.
- Explore opportunities for technical re-use or standardization
- Lead the technical implementation with respect to platform configuration and design, including considerations of integration and performance
- Assess architecture and solution designs in context of the customers identified business problems and provide direction in alignment with implementation best practices
- Provide guidance on, assist in establishing and participate in technical governance processes
- Collaborate with System Owner on design and implementation of platform operating model
- Provide technical evaluation of strategic and operational demands against platform architecture, capabilities and best practices
- Strategize with the System Owner on Planning & Coordination of release schedule against system roadmap and priorities
- Change Advisory Board Participant: Represent platform architecture & capabilities
- Contribute to / Review technical validation documentation
Operational Support
- Contribute to operational system roadmap's strategy, mid-term & short-term objectives
- Act Technical SME for business and technical discussions
- Contribute to operational risks identification and prepare risk mitigation tactics
- Leverage support organization
- Approve key system Change Request as per procedures in place
- Approve key system documents as per procedures in place
- Contribute to / Author technical Quality System (QS) documents authoring
- Back up the Quality lead in test script review
- Act as change manager for bug fixes and technical enhancements ensuring the business information is captured.
- Lead design, leverage and optimization of the service catalog together with the System Owner
- Act as L3 SME for external support teams ensuring required technical knowledge articles are created, up to date and retired as required.
Project
- Lead technical implementation of new system releases on behalf of the System Owner
- Lead technical design of projects according to roadmap
- Lead technical onboarding of new domains and design of customizations in alignment with overall business strategy
- Contribute to project risks identification and prepare risk mitigation tactics
- Contribute technical information to key Project documentation like Charter, Use Case, Benefit Report, QoB
- Contribute to Project goals & objectives and validation activities´
Principal Relationships
- Reports to: Manager, SAM Application
- Internal interfaces: GD business partners, Quality, IT partners
- External interfaces: External vendors (technical support)
**Qualifications**
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (University degree) in information technology or computer science or equivalent education / relevant experience preferred
- In-Depth knowledge of coding languages including proficiency in Javascript
- Proven work experience as a Solution Architect
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience on Service Now ITSM Platform development
- Service Now ITSM related certification preferred
- ITIL Framework experience & certification preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical development processes, global clinical operations, and strategic planning is required
- 5 or more years of operational experience in clinical trials with a pharmaceutical company and/or a Clinical Research Organization is required
- In-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Compliance is required
- Experience in working in a global environment is required
- Strong communicator both written and verbal is required
- Strong Organization and leadership skill
