We have recently been voted best charging network in the UK, France and the Netherlands, a testimony to our drive to offer the best charging experience to EV drivers Due to Fastned's European expansion, our local teams have been growing rapidly alongside the growing number of fast-charging stations we operate in Belgium. The role of Country Leadership has become increasingly important, which is why we are bringing a Country Director on board. **Your role**: The **Country Director (CD) **plays a critical role in leading and managing all aspects of Fastned's operations within Belgium. This includes driving Fastned’s strategy on a local level, coordinating the progress of local new projects and ensuring smooth operations across existing charging locations & teams. The CD will work closely with local and functional teams to align goals and strategies, foster a positive work environment, and drive Fastned’s mission to accelerate the transition to electric mobility. **Key Responsibilities**: - You will lead Fastned’s strategy in Belgium by aligning local efforts with the company’s broader goals while adapting to the local market. - You will oversee the rollout of new charging stations, ensure smooth operations, and enhance collaboration between local teams and functional departments to resolve bottlenecks. - You will work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with local regulations, while representing Fastned in interactions with various stakeholders, government entities, and the electric vehicle community. - You will act as a spokesperson for both Fastned in Belgium and the local team in discussions with the Executive Team. - You will be an empathetic leader who fosters trust and a positive local team culture (currently 20 people and growing fast). - By building strong relationships, you will inspire and guide the team toward shared goals while driving talent development through hiring, onboarding, coaching and performance management. The Belgian office consists of local Expansion, Location Design and Construction teams that will each be managed by relatively new local team leaders. With your guidance you will set these new leaders and their teams up for success. - You will also ensure that Fastned’s values are upheld, creating an inclusive and supportive work environment. **Who we are looking for**: We’re seeking an empathetic leader who can inspire and connect, driving both team trust and cultural growth. If you’re ready to drive change in the sustainable energy sector, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact **You bring along**: - At least 10 years of total work experience, including senior management experience (preferably in Country Management) within a fast-paced, international dynamic environment (preferably in a scale up company); - Experience in working within a matrix business environment, where local teams will have to work alongside and collaborate with functional teams across other European locations; - Solid influencing skills to facilitate change without formal reporting lines; - Native level in Dutch; fluency in English. Fluency in French would be an advantage - not a must; - Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
